Porcelain de Paris Porcelain de Paris is to France what Thuringia is to Germany or Staffordshire to England. Really more of a regional name than that of a specific maker. The problem is that there are so many companies of similar style (one of my book lists 153 under the Paris heading) and because of that it is almost impossible to tell which one of them made a particular piece unless they are marked. People nowadays say any kind of lousy unmarked porcelain is from this region while in reality the porcelain from the Paris area is of superb quality and up there with some of the best in the world. I have a few goodies from here some of which I can identify others are a bit more difficult.
