Fun Cup & Saucer w/initials

This is a nice cup and saucer set made by one of the Paris makers during the Empire period around 1800. The is decorated in the typical fashion for this area with three hand painted green scenes on white ground in rectangular panels with funky fish in between the scenes and a burgundy ground color filling in the rest of the space. Gold bands to the well edge and rim edge with an initial design CB or BC I believe in the center as shown. The cup is decorated in the same manner with two green scenes on white ground and griffon like creatures in between. Gilded handle, gilded inside and gilding to the top and bottom rims. Quite the typical Paris piece but very nice! The set is in great condition with a touch of wear to the gilding - mainly to the handle and inside edge of the cup and the well and edge of the saucer. Some paint flaws to the burgundy ground around the well of the saucer and two spots under the griffon of the cup. Still displays nicely and looks great! As is the norm the cup & saucer are unmarked. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.625 inches tall with a diameter of 2.875 inches. What makes it a bit more special is that I have the matching plate also on the site if anyone wants a rare set. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
