Superb Tulip Design Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made most likely by one of the better Paris region makers in the early 19th century. I know his design was made by Flamen-Fleury (1816-1828) as well as Spode but I am not sure if others made it as well. Supposedly made for custard though that seems a bit odd as these usually did not have saucers. Either ay a really cool looking cup and saucer. Nice hand painted tulip flower petal design all around with gilding filling in the rest of the space and a gold butterfly as the handle. Inside of the cup is fully gilded as well. A truly magnificent set! It is in good condition with some wear though not bad at all. There is a small chip to the bottom edge of the cup as shown. Not obvious at all when on display as it is mainly to the underside. Now for the odd part - both underside except the rim of the saucer are unglazed. Never seen that before. There are remnants of something blue under the saucer but dowubt it is a remnant of any sort of mark. Definitely not a Spode example judging by the paste. The cup is 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inch tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
