Cherub w/ Dog Scene Vase

This is a really nice empire period vase / urn made by an unknown maker in the very early 19th century. Normally I would definitely say it is from the Paris region but the quality is a touch nicer and it is just a little different that it might just be an English example from the Ridgway factory. Not sure and since the base has a piece of black stone attached under it I cannot check for some sort of mark. Either way it is a superb vase in the typical style of this period. It has a high quality scene to one side of a blinded cherub walking a dog in a nice landscape surrounding with the other side having a purple ground color to it with a gold medallion that is tooled with a putto by an altar scene. Tooled gilding around the top and bottom of the main body and two amazing busts of a busty lady with wings as the handles. The rest of the piece has lots more gilding to it which is typical of this style. It is a great looking example! The vase is in amazing condition without any damages and there is virtually no wear to the gilding either. There are four tiny spots in the purple ground that are white but that is me jsut being picky. The ladies could use a bit of a cleaning as does the inside and the black stone base has a bit of small chipping to the bottom edge. But all in all as nice an example as you will find. I have another vase on the site in exactly the same shape with the same base but a different design. Not a perfect pair but they go nicely together. As far as I can tell the piece is not marked which is would be normal for this area and time period. There might be some numbers or incised marks under the base but I am not going to take it apart to find out. The piece is 10 inches tall, 5.25 inches wide and and 3.5 inches deep.
