Scenic Cup & Saucer #3

This is a cup and saucer made by one of the Paris makers around 1800. Most likely La Courtille or Clignancourt . The set is superbly decorated with a handpainted scene of a man fishing on a stream with some houses in the background in the saucer well and a man fishing on a stream with another house in the background on the front of the cup. These scenes are of very high quality! Then there is the gilding. Quite fancy and better looked at in the pictures than described. The amazing thing is that this set is in perfect condition (with minute wear of the gilding) and matches three others I have up on the site as well. The set is only marked with an incised S or 5 underneath the cup which is common for Paris makers around that time. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
