Rue de Crussol Plate

This is a plate made by Rue de Crussol around 1790. Christopher Potter who was English founded a maker he called Manufacture du Prince de Galles in 1789. The products he made were called Prince of Wales China and this plate is a good example. He only owned the company for three years before selling it to E. Blancheron who in turn sold it and it finally closed not too much later. It was praised for their fine gold work as well as minimalistic decoration. This plate is handpainted with some flowers in a circular arrangement as well as some gold twigs in between. Gold trim to the outside edge. The plate is in great condition with the outside edge gilding almost worn off and a little wear to the rest of the plate. No chips, etc. It is marked underneath in blue with the letter B over Potter over the number 6. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 8.625 inches in diameter.
