Nice Wash Great Wash Set Set

This is a really ncie wash bowl and pitcher or if you prefer basin and ewer made by one of the Paris makers in the 19th century. The best part about it is that it is in such good condition as most have issues since they were meant to be used daily and thus got damaged easily and worn quite a bit as well. A rare survivor! This would be the perfect set if you want to complete a period bedroom or such. The bowl has a nice shape to it and is hand painted with a nice rim design including floral garlands and gold flowers with lots of gold dots filling the space between and two bird scenes. The bottom has a large floral arrangement and even the outside is deocrated with two larger flower arragements and a few single polychrome flowers and lots of gold flowers. Gold trim to the edge. The pitcher is hand painted the same way except it has butterfly scenes instead of the bird scenes. Not sure why. A floral arrangement on either side and gold trim to the edges and handle. As stated already the set is in great condition with a touch of wear to mostly the bottom flowers of the bowl - which makes sense since the pitcher would sit there. A tiny rouch spot on the very edge - like a deep small scratch more than a chip as shown. The pitcher is as clsoe to perfect as you will ever find. Neither piece is marked underneath but that is normal for Paris pieces of this time period. The bowl is 3.5 inches tall, 8.25 inches deep and about 13.75 inches wide. The pitcher is 9.125 inches tall and about 4.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
