Limoges Urn

This is a super urn most likely made by one of the Limoges factories around 1820. It is superbly decorated with a handpainted gold design on a blue background color that is velvet like to the touch not smooth like glazed colors. The handles are in the form of winged ladies and have great detail especially to the faces. Nice gold trim all around. The urn is in perfect condition with very little wear which is rare for these pieces. Marked to the underside of the base with an incised S or 5 as well as two parallel lines which is normal for pieces of this period. It is 8.625 inches tall, 4.625 inches wide and and 3.5 inches deep.
