Paris Lidded Sugar Dish

This is a nice lidded sugar dish made by one of the Paris region makers around 1800. It is very well handpainted with two medallions in whitish color with a red background surrounded by gilding as well as a nice floral garland and a fancy white decoration on a brown background. Lots of detail and quality in this piece more so than the other pieces one sees. It has two lady head handles that are gilded and a gold trim to top and bottom rim. The piece is in superb condition with just a bit of wear but even that is minimal and a small stained line on the inside that is not on the outside nor near a rim. It is 5.75 inches tall (including the lid) and 3.875 inches in diameter. The sugar dish is unmarked which is normal for these makers during this time period.
