Jewelled Vase

This is a superb little vase made by one of the Paris makers around the early 19th century. I have never seen a "jewelled" vase before just cup & saucer sets as well plates so a vase is pretty special. This must have been very special when it was made but has sadly lost a bunch of its "jewels" which is pretty much always the case with these pieces. Sevres I think started this practise and I guess a few French / Paris region makers also did it later on. The vase here is decorated with a green ground color and gold trim to the edges. On top of the green it has the little gold and I think platinum tiny thin metal backings attached to the vase on top of which the enamel jewel would sit. Apparently they could not attach them directly so this metal interface was neccessary! Never seen any silver in color and since they did not discolor I assume these are platinum. Just the metal along is good amount on this piece! You'll have to look at the photos for the decoration and condition of the jewels. Many are msising but many are still there. I don't know if anyone is able to restore these but it would look stunning! There is also a red trim on the bottom inside with more metal backings as shown. Almost all the jewels are missing here except a few tiny black ones. The top edge has a brass or bronze ormolu type piece over it. The porcelain is in great condition with wear to the gold trim along the foot. As I already mentioned a lot of the so called jewels are missing. Still looks amazing as is and if there is a restorer that can fix these it would be well worth it!! The vase is not marked but definitely French in origin from this period! The piece is 5 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter at the top. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
