Bow

Bow was founded in about 1748 by Thomas Frye who was a painter. It was bought in 1750 by two merchants but Frye remained in charge until 1759 after which the quality of the work went downhill. Production seems to have gone on until about 1776 when William Duesbury bought the factory. He closed the works and moved all the molds to his Derby factory. The porcelain was softpaste with bone ash added in.
