Two Quails Pattern Dish

This is a superb little dish made by Bow around 1760. It is hand painted with a Kakiemon style pattern called the Two Quail ( sometimes called partridges ) derived from an earlier Japanese pattern. The two birds are in the center with a blooming prunus blossom tree to the right side and some other flowers and bugs scattered about. A nice red and gold design to the nicely shaped rim. The piece is in great condition with some minor wear that doesn't take away from the look, a chip to the foot ring and some very minor edge flakes possibly from the making. It displays perfectly and is very elegant! The plate is unmarked underneath but that's the norm. It is 1.125 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 6.375 inches deep.
