American Porcelain American porcelain - well I wish I had a lot of it but I don't. 18th century and early 19th century porcelain from the US is super rare and if you do see it extremely expensive. The history of porcelain in the US started around 1738 in Philadelphia but the style was English and the makers were short lived. In the early 1800's the style shifted to French Empire and for the first time an American style developed with the workshop of William Elis Tucker from Philadelphia leading the way. The early maker was the American China Manufactory also known as Bonnin and Morris. In the 19th century you have the factory of Dr. Henry Mead, Decasse and Chanou, Tucker (probably the most famous) , the Union Porcelain Works and a few more. By the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century there were quite a few makers.Porcelaine Amerikanisches Porzellan Amerika porcelain makers in the US porcelain producers american porcelain figurine american porcelain figure Figur |
