Union Porcelain Works Set of 4 Oyster Plates

This is a rare and fun set of four oyster plates made by the Union Porcelain Works around 1881. It is very rare to find an actual set of these so I was excited to find them! They are nicely shaped and molded with a crab claw, some shells and mussels as well as seaweed in relief and a nice gold trim. If you look closely you see a crab as well in one of the wells :) These are highly collectible plates - American porcelain after all is much less common than its European counter parts. The plates have four wells for oysters as well as one shell for the sauce. They is in perfect condition with just a little wear from stacking mostly. The plates are about 1.125 inches tall, 8.625 inches wide and 6.375 inches deep and marked as shown on the underside with the U.P.W. over the eagle's head as well as PAT. JAN. 4-1881. under it. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1999
