Conquering Jealousy Figure

This is a superb large figure modeled by an American in Boston named Henry F. Libby in the later 19th century. He was a Boston dentist and amateur sculptor that modeled porcelain on the side until his practice grew more successful. The porcelain itself was made in England by Robinson and Leadbeater which was a common practise in the early days of porcelain in the USA. The figurine is made of Parian / unglazed porcelain and is quite stunning. It is of a girl having a chat with her two dogs about behaving properly :) One is a large dog possibly a golden retriever and the other a small one possibly a pug dog. The piece is amazingly detailed and very well modeled. A rather large figurine being 12.75 inches tall with a base diameter of 7.375 inches. The piece is not marked as to the maker but the back is marked H.F. Libby Boston and the copyright date as shown. The front of the base has a title on it - Conquering Jealousy . The figurine is in superb condition with a small chip to the bottom side edge of the base as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
