Seashell Decorated Cup & Saucer

This is an amazing cup and saucer that was definitely made in England in the very early 19th century and then decorated in London. Impossible for me to tell by whom and even the porcelain could have been made by Worcester BFB or Coalport which often send out blanks to be decorated in London by the likes of Thomas Baxter who did some shell pieces. Again I am not good enough to figure out who decorated the piece so I'll leave that up to the experts to argue about :) Either way the set was made around 1810, has an apricot / orange ground to them with some nice gilding to it and a Greek Key border. Ring shaped handle to the cup which should provide a clue to the maker. The center of the saucer and the front of the cup have a seashell scene to them with a single shell with corral surrounding it. Superbly done and just stunning! This sort of design has always been on my list of want to have items. Just amazing! The set is in great condition with a little bit of crazing to the glaze, an area on the side of the cup with some tiny black firing spots and minimal wear to the gilding. What looks like a stained spider hairline on the underside of the saucer is just in the glaze and not visible from the top side. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and just over 5.5 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.5 inches tall with a diameter of just under 3.5 inches. So a nice sized set. Neither piece is marked so that's of little help but not unusual for the period. Truly a fun set and a must have for the collector! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
