Restored Pinecone Basket

This is a restored oval reticulated basket with handles made by Worcester in the 18th century. It is decorated with an under glaze blue design including flowers, leaves and fruit / berries and the pine cones which lend it the name pine cone pattern. Nice blue design along the inside rim. Each handle has a touch of blue trim to it as well. The outside of the rim has lots of molded blue & white flowers to the intersections of the lattices and each handle terminal has leaves and flowers to it as well. A really nice basket that is in restored condition. Both handles have been worked on - I think one is restored or replaced while the other was just broken off though it is hard to tell. The restoration has yellowed over time so you can tell there was work done. Also two leaves of the terminals have been worked on. There is some yellowing of the top arches in those areas but looking at the blue design on the inside none of them have actually been worked on. Just incidental spray from the work on the leaves and handles. It still displays nicely and would be an easy fix for a restorer to touch up the yellowing. The work was done quite well! It displays nicely! The basket is marked with their under glaze blue crescent mark underneath as shown and is 4 inches tall at the handles, 8.5 inches from handle to handle and 7.625 inches deep.
