Griffin Potpourri

This is a large potpourri lidded dish made by Worcester in about the mid to later 19th century during the Grainger period. The bottom part is a nicely gilded triangular base on which three griffins are holding up a round bowl. Lots of superb relief detail and gold highlights. The lid has diamond and round shaped holes in it as well as a central larger hole all highlighted with gilding. The set is in perfect condition with almost no wear to the gilding. The set is 5 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter. It is sadly unmarked which is not too uncommon during this period but unmistakably Worcester from the Grainger period.
