Polychrome Ruin Scene Cup & Saucer #2

This is a rare cup and saucer made by Worcester in around 1765. Both are decorated with a black print that was hand colored in. Gold trim to the edges and a black line around the top inside of the cup. This type of decoration was a highly unusual practise at Worcester! There is a large ruin scene in the center of the saucer with a city in the background and one on each side of the cup. The set is in superb condition with some very minor wear and three glaze bubbles that popped and left circular marks of missing glaze and paint. Not obvious at all and the set displays perfectly. Both pieces are marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as a number 6 on the saucer and 16 on the cup. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5 inches in diameter. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
