Superb Polychrome Chestnut Basket Undertray

This is a really nice underplate for a chestnut basket made by Worcester in the mid 18th century. A really nice version with the reticulated rim with puce and blue flowers, as well as the applied flowers and leaves along the sides where the handle terminals are. Each side of the basket has a nice branch design handle to it. The center has a large floral arrangement as well as some smaller flowers and leaves to it. The piece is in really nice condition compared to most one sees. As one can expect there are some chips to the flower petals and leaves and one flower is missing. Only one leaf is missing its front half, about seven flower petals are missing and a couple more minor chips to the flowers. The piece displays nicely and could easily be brought back to perfection! The tray is unmarked underneath which is not unusual at all. It is 1.75 inches tall, 10.25 inches wide and 8.625 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
