Worcester George Owen Vase

This is a fancy reticulated small vase made by Worcester in 1906 if I got the dots counted correctly :) What makes this such a special piece is that is was done by George Owen and is signed by him and we all know who he is! His reticulated pieces are amazing and defy what one perceives as possible. The piercing work is so fine that it boggles the mind as to how he pulled it off and the gilding on this piece here is superb as well! The porcelain is thin and translucent and that combined with the amazing pierced design and the fancy hand painted gilding makes this one fine example of his work be it a small one. It doesn't hurt that is in in perfect condition! The vase was done when he was still alive so it is up to his standards and not one of the pieces sold after his death that were often not quite up to that high standard. An amazing little piece. It is marked underneath with the puce Royal Worcester mark as shown with six dots to either side of the crown and three to the underside of the circle plus the all important G. Owen incised signature. Many pieces are sold attributed to him but there is zero question here which makes this an exciting find and a must have. The piece is 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter.
