Kakiemon Teapot Stand

This is a superb early teapot stand / underplate made by Worcester around 1760 during their first period. The piece has a hexagonal shape to it with a nciely shaped edge and is hand painted with three superb kakiemon floral scenes as well as lots and lots of single flowers surrounded by some very nice gilding. The quality of the painting is very nice and the area between the white ground floral panels is filled with their famous blue scale design ground color which always looks stunning. It is a rare piece to find in this design. The dish is in great condition with some wear to the gilding as shown but it displays superbly! The piece is 0.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.75 inches max at the diagonal and is 5.375 inches from side to side. It is marked with their square fret mark underneath as shown as well as an old antique dealer's tag - Leonard Clarke was a well known dealer in Western Canada.
