James Hadley Figural Vase

This is a superb figural flower vase or spill vase made by Worcester in about 1883. The piece is really neat and includes a male figure, a female figure as well as two tree trunks which act as the vase on a nice base. The boy is sitting on a fence that is fully gilded while talking to the girl. This piece was modeled by James Hadley who is quite famous for these types of figurines and this one here is really very nice and not easy to find either. The ivory colored porcelain looks amazing with the bit of color and gilding! And the faces of the kids are hand painted very well. The figurine is in perfect condition which is great! The piece is 6.25 inches tall, 6.125 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the impressed Worcester mark, the puce Worcester mark with the date code U and a blueish Worcester mark right underneath that but too smudged to make out. It also has the impressed number 828 and T11 (I think) and the letter A along the side for either the gilder or painter - not sure which. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
