Jabberwocky Bowl

This is a bowl made by Worcester around 1760. It is handpainted with the Jabberwocky pattern which is very elegant and one of the best they produced. The center has the Kakiemon style design of the critter to the left, a pineapple looking thing in the center and lots of flowers and greens all around. Nice colors of blue, red and green in the center and the turquoise and gold rim design is just superb. The porcelain is a nice shape as well being a bit fluted. This bowl is a great example of Worcester porcelain of the 18th century and is in pretty good condition. It displays beautifully but there is some wear to mostly the high points of the bowl, some bubbling in the turquoise rim color and it has three teeny outside rim chips and a footring flaw which is probably from the making. The bowl is marked with the square fret mark underneath in underglaze blue. It is is 1.5 inches tall and 7.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
