Interesting Bird Design Plate

This is a really nice and unusual plate made by Worcester in the 18th century. It is hand painted with six bird scenes including a single bird with some greenery below with black floral swags or garlands below held up by golden hooks, gold trim to the nicely shaped edge, four flying single birds in the well and a few cute bugs in the center surrounded by a gold ring. A fun piece for sure and not something I ahve seen before and very nice to look at! The plate is in great condition with just some very minor wear and firing flaws along the edge two of which are tiny chips. It displays superbly. Now to something a bit odd I ahve not seen before. If you hold it at the right angle to the light you can see that underneath each of the four flying birds as well as in the very center where the bugs are there used to be a twig design instead of the birds / bugs. It was definitely done at the factory and someone must have changed their mind as to the design but I ahve never seen anything like it before! Looks like it was acid edged away before painting the birds over it. The dish is 1.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 7.65 inches. It is unmarked.
