Harry Stinton Highland Cattle Plate

This is an amazing plate made by Worcester around 1931 I believe if I read the date code correctly. The plate is superbly hand painted with a Highland cattle scene in the center including two bulls/cows in a superb landscape surrounding. The scene is signed H. Stinton for Harry Stinton who worked at Worcester from 1896 until 1963. He is probably the most famous of the Stinton family and his Highland cattle scenes are highly sought after even today. The scene is surrounded by a very fancy gold trim on cobalt blue ground. Some nice raised details to the gilding. The rim has cartouches of pink ground with gold designs that are separated by the blue ground with more gilding. Gold trim to the nicely shaped edge. All in all a really fancy and superb plate with an amazing scene! The plate is in perfect condition which is always a nice bonus! It is marked with the puce circular Worcester mark with the two interlocking rings over the made in England standing for 1931. There are some other markings to the back as well all shown in the pictures. It is 1 inch tall and 8.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
