Mrs. Hadley's Hand Vase

This is a really fun figural vase made of unglazed Parian porcelain by Worcester in the mid 19th century. First designed by the famous James Hadley in 1864, legend has it that he used his own wife's hand as the model. The piece is superbly modeled with the hand holding an urn type vase in its fingers, a bracelet around the bottom with the sleeve of her shirt showing just a touch as the base. A really nice vase that comes in many different decorations. This one here is unglazed on the outside with the inside of the vase part being glazed so it can be used. The piece is in perfect condition and is marked underneath with the impressed Worcester circular mark with a crown above it as shown as well as the registration mark and a plus mark type mark. Cannot make out the number in the registration mark but since it is a number it would mean this piece is from that original perod after it was first designed sicne that changed to letters in 1868. The entire piece is 6.125 inch tall, 2.875 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. The vase part is about 3.625 inches tall with a diameter of just under 2.125 inches at the top.
