Fluted Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Worcester in about 1765. It is decorated in underglaze blue with nice flowers as well as a great rim. The pattern is called Gillyflower . The porcelain itself is fluted which makes it much more elegant. The porcelain is a superb example of Worcester porcelain of the 18th century. Both the cup and the saucer are in super condition with two tiny fleabites (more glaze chips) to the outside rim of the saucer but one needs to search for them. Both are marked with the underglaze blue crescent mark underneath. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.375 inches in diameter.
