Elephant Vase

This is a nice figural vase made by Worcester in about 1869. It is of an elephant with a Howdah. This piece was modeled by James Hadley and he sure did a good job :) Nicely handpainted as well. I have seen a few different designs of these over the years but this one I like a lot better than most. The piece is in great condition with a teeny chip to the top rim, a teeny bit of wear to the gilding and a few pinhead size spots from the making mostly on his back. The planter is 7.5 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 8.75 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the impressed Worcester mark, the impressed artist mark as well as an impressed registration lozenge. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
