Ho Ho Bird Plate

This is a plate made by Worcester around 1760. It is handpainted with the Ho Ho bird aka Sir Joshua Reynolds design which is very elegant and one of the best they produced. The center has the Kakiemon style design of the bird surrounded by flowers in blue, red, yellow and turquoise and the rim is a dark cobalt blue with a nice gold trim. The porcelain is very thin and translucent and a superb example of Worcester porcelain of the 18th century. The plate is in OK condition. It displays beautifully as there is almost zero wear but sadly it has a very long hairline that is not stable and goes most of the way. I will have it restored when I send my next batch to the restorer. The plate is marked with the square fret mark underneath in underglaze blue. It is is 1.125 inches tall and 7.5 inches in diameter.
