Dry Blue Flowers Tea Caddy

This is a superb tea caddy / jar made by Worcester in the 18th century. The piece is hand painted with their famous dry blue flowers and a nice dentil gold trim. A great combination especially with the faceted body of the caddy! The lid has the same design to it plus a great floral finial with two leaves. The dry blue is a very different paint and you can feel the flowers coming off the body. Really very nice! There is a large floral arrangement to one side of the well two larger and a few small single flowers filling the rest of the space. The piece is in great condition with a firing crack to the foot from when it was made and a little damage to the floral finial but it displays superbly! The blue color is amazing and it being hand painted is a nice bonus. The caddy is marked with their under glaze blue fret mark as shown. It is 5.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 inches. Has an old sticker from the McWilliams collection which I beleive was sold around the early 1990s. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
