Marble Ground Floral Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Chamberlains Worcester in the early 19th century, around 1820. The set is decorated with a truly great looking combination. Each piece has a hand painted botanical specimen of a flower - one yellow and one blue. These cartouches are surrounded by a gold frame with the rest of the set having a superb marble type ground to them. Gold ring to the inside of the cup and a simple gold trim to the edges. Kidney shaped ring handle to the cup with some gilt highlights to it. The saucer is in great condition with the most minor wear to the gold trim on the edge and a black firing spot to the outside edge. The cup displays perfectly but has a tight hairline to the front as shown. The marbled ground easily makes up for this flaw as the set looks amazing! The cup is 2.625 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 inches. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.5 inches. Neither piece is marked which is not unusual at all.
