Large Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is an early cup and saucer made by Worcester around 1760. Both pieces are handpainted with two or three superb polychrome bird scenes as well as lots and lots of bugs. There are even three on the bottom inside of the cup. The quality of the painting is top notch and the cartouches are surrounded with some nice gilding and the spaces in between are filled with their famous blue scale design. An amazing set that is as good as it gets for them. The set is rather large, too probably a breakfast cup and saucer and the saucer is so deep you could use it for cereal these days. The deepest saucer I have ever seen and I have seen a few :) The cup and saucer are both in perfect condition. The cup is 2.625 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.75 inches. The saucer is 1.875 inches tall and has a diameter of 5.75 inches. Each piece is marked with their square fret mark underneath in underglaze blue.
