Blue Floral Pitcher

This is a cabbage leaf jug / pitcher made by Worcester around 1770. It is decorated with an under glaze blue desiign called the Natural Sprays pattern I believe. It includes three floral arrangements to the main body as well as two smaller flowers to the top part. The body has a relief cabbage leaf design to the main part, vertical bans up the top part with a nice design along the rim. Fancy scroll handle and a Bacchus mask / mascarone face relief to the spout as shown. Just a fun piece to look at! The piece is in good condition with some nibbles along the top edge of the spout, a larger chip to the spout side which is glazed over and from when the piece was made as well as a stained firing crack also from when it was made. I am surprised it got sold this way - they could have at aleast fixed the larger chip before glazing it! The quality control department was asleep that day I guess :) The jug is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crescent mark as shown. It is 7 inches tall, 5 inches in diameter and wide and about 6 inches from spout tip to handle. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
