Small Reticulated Chestnut Basket

This is a superb reticulated basket used for chestnuts made by Worcester in the 18th century. It is decorated with a great under glaze blue design including flowers, leaves and fruit / berries as well as pine cones which gives the design its name - pinecone pattern. The rim is also highlighted with a blue design. The outside of the rim has lots of applied molded blue flowers to it. An really nice small basket that is in perfect condition with the design in the reticulated area having run a bit in one area during the firing. A normal issue on these early pieces. The basket is marked with their under glaze blue crescent mark underneath as shown. The piece is 2 inches tall and has a diameter of 7 inches. I have these in different sizes if anyone would like to have matching pieces. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
