Wegely Doctor Figurine

This is an extremely rare figurine made by Wegely (predecessor of KPM) around 1755. It is of a cherub disguised as a doctor. The modeling is superb for such an early figurine and the paste is already really good as well. The head, hands and base are a give away for his figurines. The detail of it is superb and being left in the white only brings it out better. The doctor is dressed superbly in a tri-corn hat while wearing a cape. Sword by his side with a table next to him with a mortar and pestle as well as a small container and two bars. he is holding another bar in his right hand. The figurine is in great condition with some superb restoration to the sword handle and wings. As nice as they come! An amazingly rare piece which displays superbly! The figurine is 4.25 inches tall, 2 inches deep and 2.625 inches wide. It is marked on the back of the base with an under glaze blue W mark as well as with the impressed numbers 1 over 90 over 6 underneath. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1999
