Nice Reticulated Plate

This is an extremely rare reticulated plate made by Wegely Berlin (predecessor of KPM ) around 1755. I don't think I have ever come across a reticulated plate by them and even regular ones are very very rare. The plate is hand painted in the center with a nice floral arrangement in underglaze blue which is pretty typical for them. The rim is nicely reticulated and painted with a green and odd purple black color and there is a gold ring around the well. You can tell this is a very early piece because the green has flaked quite a bit, the purplish black is just an odd color that I have not seen before and the gilding is spotty though that is msotly because it is quite worn I suspect. Still a really nice plate and definitely not one you'll ever come across again. The plate is in good condition with the already mentioned green color issues, a chip to the inner part of the out reticulated edge as well as two flat chips the to outer edge one of which resulted in a short hairline as shown. The outer edge has some signs of gilding as well but it is all but gone. All easy fixes if need be but it comes with the territory on the rare early pieces. After all we'd look a lot worse after 250 plus years! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue W mark in the center where the glaze over it was removed due to it sagging in firing and they removed the little bit so it would sit flat again. There is also an udner glaze blue 8 near the foot ring and the numbers 2 over 5. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
