Pair of Vion & Baury Figurines

This is a pair of figures made by Vion & Baury around 1870. This is a great example of his work after he took over the company but still very much in the same style as during the earlier times and not yet the more mass produced style of the green anchor marked pieces. Baury's attention to detail on these two is amazing. Take the gold border of his coat - not just painted on but it has texture and then the buttons are highlighted in orange. I am unsure if the baskets were meant to be used for something but you could store something small in them maybe even flowers if you put the green foam stuff in the bottom. They are about 10.75 inches tall, 5 and 6.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. In perfect condition with very little wear to the gilding and maybe a chip to the flowers petals in his hand. She is marked with the VB mark on a blue raised piece of porcelain and he is unmarked. It might have fallen off as it is stuck on during production. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
