Vincennes Scenic Teapot

This is an amazing find - a little teapot made by Vincennes just before 1750. Not only is it rare to find a piece this early but this one has been hand painted with a merchant / harbor scene to the front and the back side, their typical nice flowers in the spaces in between and even a little caterpillar and bug. Nice puce and gold trim to the hand and spout. The lid has two small scenes to it as well as two flowers. The quality of the scenes are superb and obviously copied from Meissen which was still the leader at this point until Sevres took over a short time later. I always wanted to own an early example like this and was off course thrilled to find it. The pot is marked underneath with a crossed swords mark off course trying to imitate Meissen but the fleur de lis underneath is just the perfect touch :) The tea pot is 4.25 inches tall with the lid in place, 6.375 inches from handle to spout tip and and 3.5 inches wide. One can honestly say that you will not find another one like it! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
