Puce Scenic Bowl

This is a bowl or very large saucer made made by Tournai ( Tournay ) around 1770. It is hand painted with a superb puce scene including people, a donkey, a castle, a tree and so on. This piece was possibly painted by the famous Henri-Joseph Duvivier (during 1763-71) who is very well known for his puce scenic pieces. The plate is softpaste and a beautiful creamy white color. It is in great condition with a bit of wear and I assume there used to be a gold trim to the rim edge which is completely gone now but it might have never been there - just a guess. The plate is marked underneath with the gold crossed swords mark with the little crosses all around and has a partial old collection sticker underneath as well. It is 1.25 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
