Polychrome Floral Plate #2

This is another superb plate made by Tournai in the 18th century. Made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with a their best quality flowers in polychrome and a reddish brown trim to the nicely shaped edge. There is one large floral arrangement as well as a smaller one with threesmaller flowers and two leaves leaves scattered around. I think Tournay flowers are among the very best of the porcelain world. They are amazing and the soft paste porcelain and its enamels are just perfect. Very hard to find. The plate is in excellent condition with a little bit of wear to the glaze normal to softpaste porcelain but the flowers are not really affected by it. The plate has firing flaws that are mainly to the underside which has a lot of little black flying ash black dots from the firing process. Tiny bit to the edge as well as shown. The top is fine as you can see from the pictures. The piece is not marked underneath except for an incised b or q type mark which is fairly normal on Tournay pieces of this period but has the typical green translucency, etc. The plate is just over 1 inch tall and 9.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
