Polychrome Floral Plate #1

This is a superb plate made by Tournai in the 18th century. Made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with a their best quality flowers in polychrome and a reddish brown trim to the nicely shaped edge. There is one large floral arrangement as well as two smaller ones with three tiny flowers / leaves scattered around. I think Tournay flowers are among the very best of the porcelain world. They are amazing and the soft paste porcelain and its enamels are just perfect. Very hard to find. The plate is in excellent condition with a few tiny flaws to the underside. One rim nibble that is not under the glaze and one flaw to the foot ring that also might be from the making. Little bit of wear to the glaze normal to softpaste porcelain but the flowers are not really affected by it. The piece is not marked underneath except for an incised circular type mark which is fairly normal on Tournay pieces of this period but has the typical green translucency, etc. The plate is just over 1 inch tall and 9 inches in diameter.
