Single Floral Cup

This is a superb floral cup made by Tournai in the 18th century. Made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with a their best quality flowers using their polychrome enamels which look amazing. Softpaste porcelain and the painting done on it are stunning much nicer than the hard paste. Sadly it was harder to deal with and it did not make commercial sense to keep going and thus hard paste porcelain won. Thus a soft paste piece is a must have for any collector :) The cup also has some nice puce trim to the edge and a typical handle shape also highlighted with some puce trim. Sadly just a single cup but still very rare and I am sure one could find a matching saucer! The cup is in superb condition with a little rim flaw that looks like a small chip but it is glazed and painted over and from when it was made. It is not marked underneath which is fairly normal on Tournay pieces of this period but has the typical green translucency, etc. The piece is 2.875 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter.
