Saxe Immortelle Design Sugar Dish

This is a nice lidded sugar dish made by Tournai ( Tournay ) in the 18th century. It is hand painted with an under glaze blue decor called Saxe Immortelle which is normally known as a version of the strawflower pattern. A classic and decorative design that almost all makers used at some point and it is still very popular today! The dish is made of soft paste porcelain which is a beautiful creamy white color and the finial is in the shape of an acorn which I ahve not seen by other makers before. Very nice! The lid and main piece are in great condition with the only real issue being a knocked area to the underside ring of the lid - an amost chip as I like to call them. It never came out and is perfectly stable and does not show at all when the lid is in place. The main body is marked underneath with a blue 7 while the lid has a 10 or IO under it as shown. Typical green translucency as shown. The sugar dish and lid are about 4.25 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
