Single Floral Cup #2

This is a superb floral cup made by Tournai in the 18th century. Made of soft paste porcelain and hand painted with a their best quality flowers using their polychrome enamels which look amazing. A large arrangement to on side and a smaller one to the other plus a bit of puce trim to the edge and handle which is in their typical shape. Softpaste porcelain and the painting done on it is stunning. Much nicer than the hard paste porcelain from most other makers. Sadly it was harder to deal with and it did not make commercial sense to keep going and thus hard paste porcelain won. Thus a soft paste piece is a must have for any collector :) Sadly just a single cup but still very rare and I am sure one could find a matching saucer! The cup is in good condition with some wear to the glaze comon to soft paste peices and a crack across the bottom handle terminal - an issue that is quite common on all 18th century cups. Not sure why that is. The piece is not marked underneath which is common to Tournay pieces of this period but has the typical green translucency and moons, etc. The cup is 2.875 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter.
