Tournai Custard Cup

This is a great pot de creme ( lidded chocolate cup ) or pot au jus or lidded custard cup made by Tournai in the late 18th century. It is made of soft paste porcelain and was hand painted with a very nice and quite typical blue design all around the top of the main body and the lid with a blue line trim to the bottom of the piece and a bit of blue trim to the handle wich has their typical shape. The lid has a nice fruit finial to it and a little hole in it for venting steam. This pot and lid are in good condition with the leaves of the finial being damaged. One is pretty much gone and the other one is chipped. Still looks great. Both pieces are marked underneath with some blue numbers as shown. A 15 under the lid and 1 and an incised 4 under the main body. The cup and lid are about 3.25 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter with the handle sticking out about 0.75 inches. These pieces are becoming very hard to find these days! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
