Hunter Riding Horse Figurine

This is a really nice figurine made either at Strasbourg or during the early days at Frankenthal in the 18th century. The figure is of a hunter riding his horse while blowing a hunting horn. Reminiscent of the copies of older Frankenthal models made at Nymphenburg today but I cannot find this model here anywhere. The piece is superbly modeled with a ton of fragiel details and hand painted to perfection. The hunter is wearing a nice outfit that is mostly yellow with black details, tall black boots and a tricorn hat with some gold trim to it. His left hand is holding the reigns while his right is holding the horn. The horse is relaly nicely modeled with one leg up in the front as if in motion. It is supported by a tree trunk in the center - a typical feature on early figurines. The base is rather rough with some green painted on it and grasses attached to it which is quite typical for Frankenthal! The piece is 6.3755 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 5.75 inches long. The figure is marked with an impressed H as shown. Nothing else. The figurine displays superbly but has had some restorations done to it that were extremely well done. I will try to mention what I see but it is not easy to spot at all. So here goes - the tail seems to have been off as was that front leg that is up in the air. The stirups have had work done to them as did the horn. The string connecting the horn to the hunter is missing a piece. One ear on the horse has been worked on as did the reigns ( I have never seen any in all my years restored so well they are so thin and perfect looking!) Some of the applied grasses are missing on the base and there are some nibbles to the edge of the base. Having said all that the piece looks amazing and is a rare early survivor! It's a stunning figurine! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
