Polychrome Cane Handle

This is a cane handle made by St-Cloud around 1735. It is softpaste porcelain and nicely handpainted with some superb polychrome enamel scenes - one chinoiserie scene including a chinaman and two scenes including buildings. The colors are superb and it is very ahrd to find polychrome examples like this. The piece displays nicely but has been restored with some overpaint to it but the chinoiserie scene is perfect which is the side I would display anyway. There is a very shallow chip underneath the scene but it impossible to spot when on display. It is unmarked which is common at St.Cloud but it was made by them for sure. The piece is 2.125 inches tall and 1.375 inches in diameter. The hole is about 0.625 inches in diameter but a bit oval. A rare little item from one of the best makers from the 18th century! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
