Saint Cloud Cane Handle

This is a cane handle made by St-Cloud during the first quarter of the 18th century. It is softpaste porcelain and nicely handpainted with the typical underglaze blue decoration and is in great condition with some small firing flaws common on the early wares and the glaze is worn from use but that is normal on these pieces since softpaste glaze wore very easily. It is unmarked which is common at St.Cloud but it was made by them for sure. Also have an expertise from the expert just in case you don't believe me :) The piece is 1.375 inches tall and 1.125 inches in diameter. The hole is about 0.5 inches in diameter but a bit oval and it is 0.875 inches deep in the center. A rare little item from one of the best makers from the 18th century!
