Pate-sur-Pate Vase

This is the most amazing pate sur pate decorated multicolored vase made by Sevres in the 19 or 20th century. Before I get you too excited - it sadly had been butchered and made into a lamp with a hole drilled and the collar ground off. But I think if you had a silver (or preferable gold) collar made and a base you would have the best pate sur pate vase ever! Now to the good news. The vase is made of a pink porcelain, has a blue ground section with a lattice design to it including brown lines with green and brown flowers where they meet. Where the blue and pink ground meet is a fancy green trim with a brown trim to the edge and center. The green color is raised a bit so applied like pate sure pate. Now to the amazing pate-sur-pate floral design over the blue and pink - the best flowers I ahve ever seen with lots of depth and even some yellow color added to the center to simulate the stamen and stigma of the inside of a blossom. All these decorations have been added layer by layer so the pate sur pate appears to go under some of the trellise and the trim and over in other parts. Amazing! Some gold trim to finish off the perfect vase well besides it having been butchered later. The vase is generally in good condition besides the issues already mentioned. There are two spots where the glaze is missing from when it was made as shown. Might have been designed as a second choice because of it and the reason why it was rilled in the first place. The collar probably got damaged or someone was a real idiot and just did it to fit the lamp better. The vase is 9.5 inches tall 5.625 inches in diameter. Marked with the typical incised marks one find of Sevres of this period. The cnter was drileld where the other marks would have been or if it had a second part as a base that would have been marked more fully. If it doesn't sell quickly I'll talk to our very talented jeweler and see what he can do to make it perfect again - definitely worth it! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
